Camco 02582/02583 4500W 240V Screw-In Foldback Water Heater Element - Low Watt Density
Should be fine but threads aren't very good
I'm sure this water heater element should work fine, and as far as heating water goes, it works great. I'm using it to power an all-electric RIMS brewing system and I've been satisfied with it's operation except for one issue - the male threads on the element aren't quite properly machined to fit a 1/2" fitting. I have two other camco elements that are used in the system (a 1500W/120V and a 5500W/240V) that both fit the RIMS tube perfectly but this 4500W element only threads about half-way before getting bound up, preventing the included rubber gasket from creating a leak-proof seal. It was fairly easy to fix with plenty of teflon tape and elbow grease but overall I was disappointed with the improper machining.
Perfect fit, easy installation
Element worked as described, easy installation good price. We have very hard water and they only last about one year. Big cost savings versus lowes/home depot.
basic element
This is a good, basic water heater element. I have had no trouble using this to replace elements on the tank at a cottage where we turn the water off 5 months of the year.
